Having trained at the Actors Studio in New York with Lee Strasberg, Henry Jaglom’s career began as a writer and director of off-Broadway theatre and cabaret. Moving to Hollywood in the late 1960s, Jaglom was soon collaborating with some of the most instrumental filmmakers of his time – Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Karen Black and Peter Bogdanovich, among others.

Jaglom has continued over the past 40 years to follow the advice of his long-time mentor, Orson Welles, in making very personal films.
As producer and director, Jaglom attracted some of the finest talent of recent times – Vanessa Redgrave, Viveca Lindfors, Rachel Kempson, David Duchovny, Noah Wyle, Anouk Aimee, Greta Scacchi, Ron Silver, Dean Stockwell and even his friend and Mentor, Orson Welles, in his last film NEW YEAR’S DAY (1989).

Jaglom’s most recent film, QUEEN OF THE LOT (2010) has been receiving rave reviews.

Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times has said that Henry Jaglom is “the definitive independent, one of America’s most important filmmakers. A filmmaker of truly unique accomplishments!”
